Here you can find a selection of my favorite albums, spacing from hard-hitting deathcore to jazz and IDM/EDM.

No ratings here, order doesn’t matter: pick something and listen!

In Contact Caligula’s Horse

An easy progressive metal albums for the uninitiated.

Love the vibes this aussie band is capable of putting out.

Ambient 1: Music for Airports Brian Eno

My go-to album while flying.

Benath The Mask Chick Corea Electrik Band

Love listening to the fusion musings of some of the most talented musicians out there.

Not the easiest album to listen to if you’ve never walked the jazz-fusion land, but a great one nonetheless!

W:/2016ALBUM/ deadmau5

In my opinion this is the most mature, “grown-up” piece of work deadmau5 ever released.

A good party album, a great ambient album: an overall 10/10 experience.

The Mountain Haken

Beautiful concept album made by a band which in my opinion is single-handedly bringing the English

progressive metal scene forward.

Check out their other albums as well, if you’re into concept discographies.

LIFE KNOWER

Sometimes you just want to bop your head to modern, wacky, fun funk.

KNOWER create music that makes you do just that.

Lyrics are incredibly NSFW, so be warned!

Blackwater Park Opeth

This is the album that taught me harsh vocal can be expressive and thoughtful, and it will probably do the same to you too.

Canon OVERWERK

What if club music met classical? Canon delivers just that.

Beautifully composed and produced, and made by an independent artist: what else do you need?

In Silico Pendulum

A mix-and-match between pop choruses, ambient music and slapping drum’n’bass.

Periphery IV: HAIL STAN Periphery

Periphery are weird, because you more or less know what to expect from their works but in the end it’s all so different and unique.

HAIL STAN represents the best example of variation in genres and in particular vocals, an awesome compendium spacing from jazz to death metal.

Fear Of A Blank Planet Porcupine Tree

Probably the most popular Porcupine Tree album.

Funnily enough I didn’t fully appreciate their music until I gave this album a proper listen, and I encourage you to do the same.

It’s dark sounding, and at times it gives me a sense of emotional despair… Which is exactly what Porcupine Tree wanted I reckon.

Volition Protest the Hero

A fast, hard-hitting metal album with incredibly deep lyrics and some of the best choruses you’ll ever hear.

Passion and Warfare Steve Vai

Vai’s works are always wacky and never really feel like instrumental albums, and this one is no exception.

Produced in a masterful manner, a great piece of rock music that you should not miss.

Hand Cannot Erase Steven Wilson

As with Porcupine Tree, it took me some time to truly appreciate Steven Wilson’s body of work.

Hand Cannot Erase tells a touching story through some of the best progressive rock music ever produced.

Now that I think about it, Porcupine Tree’s singer sounds a lot like Steven Wilson…

Pain Remains Lorna Shore

An emotional yet powerful concept album.

Incredibly heavy.

The first three tracks are bangers!

Images and Words Dream Theater

The progressive metal album.

Fueled my passion for the genre and guitar playing.
